Adopt a Green Space Program
The Adopt a Green Space Program is a partnership between the city and individual volunteers, businesses and/or community groups. The program encourages individuals and/or groups to commit their time to help maintain a city green space like a neighborhood park or open space. 

Adopt a Park Planter Box
The City of Mound also partners with volunteers who are interested in adopted a planter box located in a park. This includes planting flowers or plants in the planter box (generally in the spring of each year). 

Program Goals
Goals of the program include promoting beautification, collaboration, and community pride. 

Who Can Participate?
Individuals, families, neighborhood associations, civic groups, churches, school groups, businesses, and community organizations. 

Adopt a Green Space - Recommended Activities
  • Picking up litter regularly (city supplies bags)
  • Organizing spring and/or fall clean-up events
  • Weeding
  • Notifying staff of any concerns like graffiti or items in need of maintenance or fixing
Adopt a Park Planter Box - Recommended Activities 
  • Plant flowers or plants (generally in the spring) in the designated planter box.
