City Council Public Hearing to Consider Amendments to City Code Chapter 129 (Zoning) – Tues., April 23, 2024, 7:00 p.m.

On April 23, 2024 the City Council will consider a draft ordinance to amend City Code Chapter 129 (Zoning) in its mixed use districts regulations and definitions. The proposed amendments are being sought to implement the 2023 Comprehensive Plan Amendment adopted earlier this year.

The substantive changes being proposed include the following:

  1. Establish the need for a conditional use permit for an apartment which replaces an existing apartment and for senior living
  2. Modify the maximum building height so it is 35 feet for both districts
  3. Add a new requirement for mixed use buildings with apartments that there can be no façade with a length of greater than 200 feet. This includes a new definition for façade
