City Day on the Hill

On March 7, 2024, Mayor Jason Holt, Councilmember Sherrie Pugh, City Manager Jesse Dickson, and Deputy City Manager Maggie Reisdorf attended the League of Minnesota Cities' (LMC) City Day on the Hill event.

The event is an annual event put on by LMC to help increase the visibility of Minnesota cities as key partners in policymaking. The event brought together city elected leaders and staff from all over the State of Minnesota to receive updates on key priorities, to hear from state policymakers, and to provide an opportunity to advocate for their city's specific needs.

In addition to attending the LMC's learning events throughout the day, Mayor Jason Holt, Councilmember Sherrie Pugh and staff held meetings with State Representative Andrew Myers and State Senator Kelly Morrison. The goal of these meetings was to strengthen these already great working relationships and to advocate for specific city needs that require state support. One of those items includes securing additional state funding for the construction of a Water Treatment Plant.
