Department Overview
The Community Development and Building Inspections Department handles all planning, zoning, and building inspection activities within the City of Mound. This department is dedicated to supporting community development throughout Mound through the process of carrying out the objectives set in the City’s Comprehensive Plan.

City Planning/Community Development Department
This includes, but is not limited to, the administration of redevelopment & development initiatives, zoning & land-use regulations, reviewing & processing land-use applications, and carrying out the objectives of the City's Comprehensive Plan. 

Building Inspections Department
The City of Mound contracts with an outside organization, SAFEBuilt, for its building inspection services. Building permit submissions and inspection scheduling are completed through a digital platform called Community Core.

Code Enforcement
The City of Mound's Code Enforcement staff work with residents to ensure neighborhoods are clean, safe, and healthy for the community to enjoy. Staff respond to questions and concerns and respond appropriately to ensure the preservation of property values and to prevent unsafe, unsanitary issues from infringing on the rights of others.
