Every new business that opens in Mound is a vote of confidence in our community, and we want to celebrate it. The City of Mound's Ribbon Cutting Program marks the opening of new businesses with a short, welcoming ceremony and a little well-earned fanfare. Whether you're just opening your doors or your business has just reached a big milestone, we'd love to help you mark the occasion, connect with the community, and get some great local press along the way. 

How to Schedule Your Ribbon Cutting
Ready to celebrate your new business? Here's how it works:

• Contact. Email the Administrative Assistant/Planning Technician Kate Vogt (kvogt@moundmn.gov) with your business name, address, and a couple of date/time options that work for you. We ask for at least two weeks' notice so we can coordinate with City officials and help promote this event.
• Wait for City Confirmation. Once we find a time that works, we'll lock it in and start promoting your event on the City's website and social media.
• We'll bring the Ribbon. The City provides the ribbon, scissors, and a photographer to capture the moment. You bring the excitement; invite your customers, friends, family, and neighboring businesses to join in.
• Celebrate! We'll gather for a short welcome, a few words from City leaders and from you, and the official ribbon-cutting; then it's all yours to enjoy with your guests.

Have a business that's already open but never had a ribbon-cutting? No problem, this program welcomes belated celebrations or celebrations of milestones too. Just reach out, and we'll get you on the calendar.

Limit: one ribbon-cutting per business per 5 years.
